Latino Farmers Cooperative of Louisiana Internship Opportunities

Founded in 2008 to aid Latino immigrants who recently arrived in the Greater New Orleans area to take part in the community’s recovery efforts, the Latino Farmers Cooperative of Louisiana (LFCL) began as an organization that provided its members a means to access land and resources to allow them to take part in urban agriculture. By 2011, the LFCL expanded into the realm of social services, providing food security to Latino families in the area in the form of a food buying club, a monthly food bank, food stamp assistance, and workshops on gardening, health, nutrition, diet and exercise in their native language.

The Latino Farmers Cooperative of Louisiana seeks to improve the social and economic welfare of its members and empower them through an integrated, sustainable community food system. For more information, check out their Facebook page.
