Author: Atianna J. Cordova

Atianna Cordova is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Master’s Candidate in Disaster Resilience Leadership at Tulane University. She has devoted her practice to exploring how design can be used as a tool to assist under-served communities, those affected by disasters and build local community capacity that contributes to overall resilience. Through Atianna’s professional experience at architecture and urban planning firms, her research regarding disaster recovery in vulnerable populations, and her academic course work involving research and evaluations, Atianna has developed a wide range of hard and soft skills relating to community engagement and outreach, sustainable development, impact measurements, visual communications and marketing. Recently, I was awarded Taylor Center's Changemaker Catalyst Award to attend the American Institute of Architects' Conference, and further promote equity in the design profession.
