The Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT) understands how important the internship experience can be to a student’s academic and career decision making process. Some industries, in particular non-profit, advertising, media/entertainment, and start-ups, are not able to offer compensation at a level that makes it accessible to all students. Some opportunities may take you far across the globe and travel alone would cost every penny you are about to earn. We are proud to offer funding to enable students to pursue meaningful internships that would be otherwise unaffordable.
Intern Sponsorship Awards up to $1,000 will be available to undergraduate students exhibiting financial need to participate in non-credit earning internships which are unpaid or provide minimal compensation. Funds can be used to supplement living expenses (e.g., rent) or travel (e.g., airfare, public transportation). Funds are not allowed to supplement tuition costs, food, clothing, or personal items.
For more information on the sponsorship requirements and eligibility, visit this page.
Applications for the next award cycle will be made available in the Spring of 2014. For questions, please contact Allen Thomas, Ph.D. at athomas@tulane.edu.
