Apparently, a lot. The ONEHOPE Foundation has a goal for each Fortune 500 company to donate at least 1% of the $12.21 trillion they bring in each year and outlined the potential impact. The possibilities are pretty endless:
As change makers, I’m sure many of you try to make conscious decisions about your consumption and you’re not alone. According to a study by Cone Communications, 94% of customers are likely to switch brands to one that is socially conscious. Not only would One Hope’s plan dramatically increase donations to social causes, but it would bring in more revenue for the companies themselves! Who could argue with that?
The ONEHOPE Foundation works with the companies directly to help them decide how much to give and which non-profit would fit best with their business. Then, they calculate the impact that the company makes. Check out ONEHOPE’s website to see the impact that has already been made.
As the gift buying season is upon us, it would be pretty cool if a portion of our purchases went to creating social change. Just food for thought.
