Tulane International Food and Music Festival

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is pleased to announce the return of the annual International Food and Music Festival on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 5:30 to 8:00 in the Qatar Ballroom, LBC 212! Doors open at 5:00pm

This festival provides a great way for American and International students, faculty, staff and ethnic/language student organizations to share a taste of their home culture and cuisine with the Tulane and New Orleans community. This is an event that spotlights our diverse international community at Tulane.

In keeping with New Orleans’ tradition of spring festivals, the International Food and Music Festival is meant to bring Tulane’s international community together and showcase your food and culture to each other and the community of New Orleans! International students and scholars bring so much life and diversity to this area – this festival is our big chance to come together and celebrate this contribution.

We are still looking for volunteers. You can come and help us for as little as one hour or for the duration of the festivals! If you would like to help decorate, perform or help us coordinate the festival on-site, we would greatly appreciate it!

There are several ways to get involved:

  1. Serve as a volunteer during the event to serve food or greet people
  2. Set up an informational/activity/food booth; share information your culture with an information table or with an activity or provide a small sampling of food
  3. Wear your traditional clothing from your culture for the fashion show portion of the show
  4. Perform/showcase traditional dance, music, drums, sword song, martial arts, etc.

If any of this sounds like something you’d like to do, fill out this form!
