If you can’t get enough of TED after attending TEDxTU on November 12th, sign up to be a Volunteer at TEDYouth, an official TED conference, the following weekend! For the first time TEDYouth will be held in New Orleans, and registration will be only open to 12-18 year olds. Volunteers who help out before and during the event will have the amazing opportunity to see what an official TED event looks like, and have access to the talks and the staff afterparty.
TEDYouth 2013, themed “The Spark,” is moving south this year! It’s happening Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana. At TEDYouth, more than 20 scientists, designers, technologists, explorers, artists, performers (and more!) will share short lessons on what they do best. They’ll dazzle us with mind-shifting stories, inspire us with creativity and make us want to dive even deeper into a broad array of topics.
The program is made up of three sessions, plus a lunch break with engaging activities, demos, and a chance to meet the speakers. Attendance is free of charge for 400 middle and high school students from the New Orleans area.
Volunteers are needed on the afternoon of Friday, November 16th and all day on Saturday, November 17th. Email Mary Bryan at mbryan@tulane.edu if interested.
