Since 2007, the Kiva Fellows Program has offered over 500 individuals a rare opportunity to put their skills to work in support of global microfinance. Applicants chosen for the program serve as Kiva’s eyes and ears on the ground, working directly with microfinance institutions (MFIs) and other field partners in over 60 countries around the globe, and with new initiatives such as Kiva Zip in Kenya and the U.S. The Kiva Fellowship is an unpaid, volunteer position designed to increase Kiva’s impact and to offer participants a unique insider experience.
Kiva is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world. Learn more about how it works.
