This high school has implemented the Independent Project, where 9 students take a semester to follow their learning passions. Completely self-directed, students motivate each other to answer questions each week and have independent learning projects throughout the semester. It has worked great for students with learning disabilities or different learning styles and seems to really get students involved and renew a passion for learning. Fun Fact: It’s also the alma mater of Tulane CELT Fellow Lilah Shepard!
